Overview
Blitz Concrete RSA (Pty) Ltd is a black owned company specializing in the manufacturing of high-quality precast concrete products.
The company prides itself of more than 32 years of experience in the precast concrete products for road and storm water infrastructure, power-supply infrastructure, water reticulation systems and the building and construction industry. Blitz Concrete RSA is the leader in the industry as it enjoys a sizeable portion of the market, especially in the Gauteng Province. The company is powered with modern technology and fully-automated production plants at its two sites in Meyerton.
Scope of Business
Blitz Concrete RSA manufacture products to standards exceeding the minimum laid down by South African Bureau of Standards (SANS) or (SABS) specifications: 'We manufacture to almost double the SABS standard. Where SABS requires a 25 MPa, we cast to 42 and 48MPa.
Last year the company invested R9million in its new factory that has created sufficient capacity to meet anticipated demand for precast concrete products.
The company's new flexible fully-automated equipment, which has been in operation since August last year, is able to manufacture a wide variety of products rapidly to the highest international specifications.
Although best known as a manufacturer and supplier of kerbstones, a large part of its business is the supply of precast concrete products used in electricity- distribution infrastructure, notably plinths on which mini-substations are erected.
The company works in close liaison with clients and their architects in order to produce unique precast concrete elements. Many of these are used to depict corporate logos or to introduce special themes in business parks or to replicate special emblems and symbols.
Among Blitz Concrete RSA major clients are Johannesburg Stock Exchange-listed construction companies Wilson Bayly Holmes-Ovcon, Murray & Roberts and Griniker-LTA as well as large nonlisted companies like Ruthcon, Protech, Nyoni Civils, Moseme-Lonerock, Roadcrete and Blacktop Surface.
